Elisabeth Rohm was born in Dusseldorf, Germany on April 28, 1973. Before
she was one year old, Elisabeth's family moved to New York City and later
to Greenwich, Connecticut. Her father was a German corporate attorney and
her mother was a writer for the soap opera, The Guiding Light. Her
parents divorced when she was barely nine years old, leading her into
boarding school in Tennessee. Elisabeth has retained dual citizenship
(German and American).
At the Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York, Elisabeth studied
European history and writing. After a brief fling with modeling in
Florida, Elisabeth tried her hand at acting, appearing on stage in
college. From there, she graduated to a role on the ABC soap opera, "One
Life to Live." She moved up to a recurring guest role on "Angel" as
detective Kate Lockley and was able to find a leading role in the Fox
pilot, "The Invisible Man" in 1998. She then achieved a regular role on
the drama "Bull" before being cast for her most significant part in "Law &
Order" as assistant district attorney, Serena Southerlyn, a role she
played for four years (2001-2005).
An aspiring novelist, Elisabeth is also an avid horseback rider and art
collector. In 2002, the attractive blonde made it to Maxim magazine's
"Hot 100" list.
