Eva Mendes
Eva Mendes (also credited as Eva Mendez), was born March 5, 1978
(Year of the Horse)
in Houston, Texas. An attractive Cuban-American, Eva moved along with
her family from Miami to Los Angeles while still a young girl. Later in
University while in the midst of a Marketing major, the budding beauty
was discovered in somebody else's portfolio by a dramatic agent. A lot
of girls with Cuban heritage would wind up being discovered just like
Eva, for their natural beauty and talent, another one being
Rosario Dawson,
the actress. The
result: Eva was convinced to drop out of University and pursue a career
as an actress. She had never considered acting and as a result had
taken no formal training. It was only the chance discovery which led to
a music video, some made-for-television productions, before she ascended
to "A Night at the Roxbury" and "Exit Wounds" both in 1998.
Ultimately, Eva Mendes landed a significant role in "Urban Legends: Final Cut." It was her role in the 2001 flick "Training Day" with Denzel Washington that caught the attention of a large audience. She has since added significant roles in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" (2003) with Antonio Banderas and Johnny Depp, and "Out of Time" (2003) with Denzel Washington. A versatile artist, Eva is writing a children's book in which she hopes to instill art, history, and values along with vocabulary in a format that children can readily understand. She has also appeared as an international spokesperson for Revlon Cosmetics and is a supporter in the fight against breast cancer. .15hqqp. Free counters provided by Andale. | |||
