Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973 in Birgish Gladback, Germany. After
winning a modeling contest when she was eighteen, Heidi began her career
as a model, eventually signing with the Elite Model agency, which would
sign many major models including Mexican supermodel,
Elsa Benitez. Photo
shoots for the top magazines
allowed her to appear in Victoria's Secret catalog,
Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Bride's, as well as on the cover of the Sports
Illustrated Swimsuit edition magazine (1998). The latter success led
her to acquiring guest appearances on television talk shows, including
David Letterman. Later she appeared on other shows,
including the sitcom "Spin City," and on cable TV's Bravo Network as the
hostess of a reality show.
Heidi has also appeared in the feature film,
"Blow Dry" (2001), and eventually married a British singer, Sealhenry
"Seal" Samuel in May 2005. She has two children, a son by Seal and a
daughter, Leni, born a year earlier by auto racer, Flavio Briatore.
Additional exposure for the superstar model occurred when she was chosen
for a role in a James Bond video game "Breathless" (1998).
Heidi is also a fashion designer who has created designs for clothing,
shoes, jewelry and swimsuits, as well as being an accomplished artist
whose paintings have been displayed in various art magazines. Heidi is
outspoken and has a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, such as when she
shocked the local media by proclaiming that caring for newborns was a
simple chore because, "Babies take care of themselves. They know how to
poop on their own."
