Kelly Brook was born on November 23, 1979 in Chatham, Kent, England. As
a schoolgirl, she trained in dance, singing and acting. It wasn't until
her mother entered her in a beauty contest (which she inevitably won),
that her career moved toward the direction of modeling. Supporting
herself as a waitress in a tea shop, she quickly landed small modeling
jobs for local companies. These led to her discovery and promotion to
the covers of the British tabloids and such major publications as FHM,
GQ, and Cosmopolitan, all by the age of 16. She wore Lee jeans as part
of an ad campaign and soon was appearing in television commercials as a
game show hostess.
A succession of widely-featured advertising
campaigns for major firms made her a well-known model all over the UK.
She soon won the position as a presenter on British TV's "Big
Breakfast." She eventually resigned to take on a position as a host for
MTV's Select. She has since appeared in feature films, stage
productions, music videos, and inevitably appeared on her first official
calendar in 2001. In 2000, she was voted 5th Sexiest British Girl by
FHM, and in 2005 she was voted first in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women Poll,
just ahead of
Cheryl Tweedy.
