Leeann Tweeden was born Leeann Velez Tweeden in Manassas, Virginia on
June 13, 1973 (Year of the Ox). With brown hair and brown eyes and 5-foot
8-inch tall, Leeann graduated from high school in 1991, then headed for
Colorado Springs to work as a Hooters waitress. Bypassing an acceptance
at Harvard for a modeling career, she won the Venus International Model
Search contest in 1992 when she was just 19. The win opened doors for
Leeann, allowing her to appear on national television as a fitness
trainer for Tony Little. Her next big break occurred at age 20 when she
appeared on the cover of the magazine Swimwear USA. After relocating to
Los Angeles, she modeled for Frederick's of Hollywood, appearing on
their catalog cover and also appearing on numerous calendars, including
Hooters.
Leeann Tweeden then made it to trading cards for Star Pics and later for
the Hooters set of 1994. At 21, Leeann next appeared on a Playboy
cover, appearing on the 1994 edition of Playboy's Book of Lingerie.
Additional appearances included the television series EdenQuest,
co-starring with Pamela Anderson, Star Search (tv), and was a guest on
the Vicki Lawrence Show, Jerry Springer, and Entertainment Tonight. Her
next success was capturing a role on Fitness Beach (ESPN2), followed by
a layout in the August 1996 issue of Playboy. She was chosen as the
model for the lead character in a new comic book, Coven 13 (No Mercy
Comics).
In subsequent years, Leeann appeared in numerous Swimsuit model
shoots, calendars, and many times in Playboy. In 2001, Tweeden began as
a correspondent on the series for a sports show. As an avid dirt bike
racer, she enjoyed the occasional announcing duties at racing events.
