Mayra Veronica Aruca Rodriguez, better known as Mayra Veronica, is an
increasingly seasoned actress whose education, background, and
experience in the entertainment world, has been broad and varied. This
defines her essence and regrettably portends what may lead to an
untimely downfall. She is best known for her celebrity photos, and the

Mayra Veronica was born in Havana, the daughter of Arturo Aruca and Mayra Rodriguez. It was her father, a singer in a Cuban rock band who provided his daughter with the inspiration to follow the arts and the world of entertainment. At a very young age, she accompanied her father to rehearsals and performances, but not soon afterward was forced to flee the country with her mother to the safety and hardships of life in Miami. They were later joined by her father. Mayra was able to attend Ballet school through her own determination, and despite a lack of financial means. She excelled in the environment, but as she grew and developed into a woman, it became apparent that a professional ballet career was out of the question. By seventeen, she had finished high school and discontinued her ballet, heading to University where she eventually graduated with a degree in Psychology. It was here at the Florida International University that she began acting with the same determination that she approached everything. She took acting courses, performed in many plays, and eventually moved to New York where she found work as a model at the Spanish Univision network. Since then she has studied acting at the Counterforce Actor's Studio (organic acting), the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami, and the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York (method acting). Experience followed her studies, as she hosted a Miami news show and Hollywood Previews where she interviewed celebrities such as Tim Allen, Burt Reynolds, and Hugh Heffner. She appeared in PBS films and independent films and was the lead in the McCarthy Theater's Romeo and Juliet, as well as appearing in Univision sitcoms. She also appeared in Sabado Gigante Internacional, a Latin TV show that has advanced the careers of such notables as Uruguayan celebrity sensation, Natalia Oreiro. Mayra remains much in demand for commercials for companies such as Colgate, Burger King, Allstate, and Coca Cola. Her appearance in calendars achieved her a position in the A-list for the One Hundred Sexiest Women in the world, and her 2004 calendar became a top seller in US bookstores. She currently divides her time between LA and Miami. Her first DVD is soon to be released along with a Mayra Veronica video. There is no other aspiring actress or singer with as much talent, determination, and future as Mayra Veronica.
